Godma's Banana Loaf

This has to be one of the easiest and rather yummy loaves to put together. Recipe courtesy of "godma" Pat. Better copy it quickly, for I haven't gotten her permission to post this, and if she objects, off it goes.

Mix together
2 eggs
1 cup sugar or less
1 cup oil

1½ cups high protein flour sifted
pinch salt
1½ tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda

5 large ripe bananas or more, mashed
raisins soaked in liquor, or in my case, 10 prunes soaked in rum, plus handful of raisins
chopped handful walnuts, or replace with pistachios, as some people (like my evil twin) find walnuts too bitter.

Literally just mix all the ingredients together. A kid could do this, and my 3½ year old did just that.

Pour into loaf pan, lined and bake at 170C for 50 minutes.

Delicious on its own, sinful with butter or fresh cream.

Look very easy to make. I will try this recipe once the price of pisang go down a bit. Right now a kg of cost can cost as high as $16.00 per kg.

I'm in Perth. Pisangs are so expansive becoz few months ago most of the pisang plantation was hit by a cyclone. So it was predicted that the price of pisang will remain high until Xmas. I wish I'm back home in M'sia so that my kiddies can eat as much pisang as they like.

Oh poor flower...poor Aussies, really, cos the cyclone wiped out the whole of Australia's pisang stock (the plantations are in Queensland), not confined only to perth.

Fatboy, this post reminds me to pester Snowdrop to make an upside down caramel banana cake recipe from ABC's Delicious magazine.

Another thing...we tahan so long oredi, but cannot anymore...do you live in a condo that has initials PVC? If don't wanna say, it's ok. Just being kpoh.

Not that we'd stalk you. Unless we're hungry. ;)

poor flower... oh well, there are lots of other fruits u can get in perth that you cant get here, or at least dont have to pay an arm and a leg for. cherries at the moment are selling for 49.90 a kg. A handful oridi cost RM20.

spot, HAHAHAHHA, whatever gave u that idea? i am cracking my head to think WHERE PVC or WHAT PVC might be. but nope, if anyone there looks/sounds like me, they're impostors.
