I didn't include in this list, things I'm not sure are vegetables or what.
1. Mushrooms....I love all mushrooms, except the poisonous ones.
2. Beans ...french beans, long beans, angled beans, edamame...love all the green ones. dont like kidney beans, especially the ones from a tin that they put in these new fancy fandangled ice kacangs.
3. Roots ...is potato a vegetable? corn? carrot? radish? yam? like most of them.
4. Forgot about okra and bitter gourd, until snowdrop mentioned it. Actually I like them both.

So yeah, conclusively, cauliflower is about the only vegetable I dislike. (upon further searching my heart, I realise yeah, I don't hate cauliflower.... its too strong an emotion)

The middle category, where the sawi, kailan etc are, are the indifferent category. Forgot to label that.

I'm not sure if aragula/rocket is a vegetable or a herb.

I fully understand about the cauliflower part.. I like broccoli but dislike cauliflower.. it's just strange. Growing up was different though, hated broccoli but lurved cauliflower. And I like all the "jungle" veggies, the stinkier the better - must be the Malaysian in me. Now, there are so many new hybrids around, should start to expand your like-dislike list!

fbb, ahh ... now ur list is clearer. i oso like fan shee yeap (incidentally dats wat dey used to call francis yip), but i hear dat if u eat 2 much of dat, u can get arthitis or some bone joint problems in the long run. Seems many ppl during WW2 in m'sia survived on dat in the jungle and now dey have got serious probs with their joints or something laidat. urban legend? dunno? but hey now u have something else to research and blog about!

Hmmm..poisonous mushrooms. They were serving 'magic mushrooms' at a full moon party I attended in Koh Phangan. The world took on a different colour by the second plate of the omellete. Hahaha...

LOL on yr cute list. I'm ok with all vegetables but since Splashie Boy hates certain vegetables, I can understd why you probably hate cauliflower.

dearrr rasa malaysia, haiya, pucuk paku is the one that looks like wild ferns..its wild one i think. very popular in nyonya restaurants. it has a fibrous, crunchy texture. rocket is aragula. i think it may come under "herbs". wong ngah pak if i'm not mistaken, is chinese cabbage.

sam, thanks....yar, i didnt expect this post to be able to elicit any form of laughter actually.

tummy and unka, oooh, magic mushrooms...how do they work ah? like alice in wonderland ah? suddenly feel very high?

FBB, don't listen to Glutton King, the Evite that Audrey Cooks sent out said "Vegetable of the Day" I don't think it's cauliflower lah.

BTW, I came from a Nyonya family but still don't know what pucuk paku is...also aragula/rocket, Wong Ah Pek. I will have to google.
