A Simple Man's Simple Breakfast

I think one of God's greatest gift to man is eggs. Culinary wise. If it were not for the potential cholestrol hazards, I'd eat eggs EVERY day, (as opposed to every alternate day), and eat LOTS of it.
The above combination is my idea of a heavenly breakfast. Crispy preferrably freshly made Yau Char Kwai, a cup of ice local coffee, and two half boiled eggs. No, I don't eat like this everyday, for YCK's are not that easy to come by, and I got to detour a fair bit to get them in the morning, so usually its replaced by toast. But this morning, I was in a good mood, so I thought, why not.

unkaleong, hmm, usually i drink my coffee in the orfis black, no sugar, but for local coffee, somehow i prefer it cold, with milk. i love steamed bread, but i dunno where to get it here.

ktx, who cares about salmonella poisoning...we've been eating half boil eggs since time immemorial oso nothing....i lurve mine runny, fried, boiled, poached, whatever, but MUST be runny.

babe, of course i dip the YCK into the egg ler.

oooh, precious, nasi lemak with kopi ais is indeed one of THE combos...oh, with fried runny egg too.

tracy....pre menopausal women donch have to worry about eating too much eggs, so if i were you, i'd do it man.

talking about this v had around 10 each one night in PD from a stall (could be due to enhanced sea breeze/heroin laced salted fish romantic hallucination disorder)but one had to throw out 11 on the way back. So they must be special. Dua lagi jangan terlalu masak mamak !

I always have them with toast but never tried (or actually imagined) eating it with YCK. Then again I seldom find YCK in the mornings ... have them mostly for supper.

YCK with porridge, tried it. YCK with BKT, love it. YCK with kopi-O, all the time. But YCK with soft-boiled egg is something new! Sounds scrummy!

BTW, I have been looking for a wooden butter knife or wooden tongs. Would you have any idea where I can get them?

Yup, haven't tried YCK with half boiled eggs before. That's a pretty lean and straight looking YCK! YCK with Kopi O is the best!

At first, I thought that you dipped the YCK into the eggs! I wonder how it'll tastes like then :)

hmmm, why is it so strange to dip YCK or YCG in eggs? afterall, its like bread and butter only what....same ingredients, more or less, ie, flour, yeast, oil....so how wrong can it be? i love it, i think it's delicious.

nips, your hard boiled egg diet sounds erm....interesting...

k.at, sorry la, i have NO idea where to get a wooden butter knife or thongs. why would you need such a specific implement?

I have a non-stick waffle iron. I dont want to scratch it, and plastic/nylon utensils melt upon contact to the hot iron. Thick wooden spatulas disfigures my waffle.. fussy I am.. ;D

I figured a thin-ish wooden knife or tongs would do the trick when I lift up the soft waffle.

kat, your mickey mouse waffles are so cute. where did you buy it? i was trying to figure out if you're local...it was only your just heavenly post that confirmed so. haiya, tell you what to do. go to ikea, exit cafe, flick some ice cream sticks (after buying one cup of coffee), and use those la. disposable, cheap, and biodegradable. and to lift from the iron, use two, like a pincer.
