My Frozen Eggs & MY Shaved Bush

Those of you who have been following my tribulations on facebook would know that I have been having royal pains in accumulating egg whites. For starters, I'd been storing 10 whites to attempt the macaroons... when one morning, I noticed they had DISAPPEARED from the fridge. The maid had used them all up ...and fried them!!!! ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

THEN, this week alone, I get 5 orders for pavlovas. That's 30 egg whites, .....which means, 30 yolks I know not how to use. A status message on facebook inviting people to harvest my eggs garnered fairly good response.... uses ranged from feeding dogs, hair masks, face masks, kuih seri muka, tiramisu, ......and the winner, SEMI FREDDO.

Initially I was told by the macaroon instructor, that you cannot store egg yolks. But according to the internet, you can, and salmonella is killed at temperatures of 59C...which isnt very high...(disclaimer here.....that's what the internet said...please do your own research)....

So I lovingly freeze my eggs for Paprika, who said she could use them for semi freddo. I give you my lovingly frozen eggs....just waiting to be in semi-nated with freddo...


Now, not content with using up my egg whites, this same maid TO MY HORROR, cleared out the entire kadok bush that I have been raving about recently!!!! ARGHHHHHHHHH!!!!! In there no end to the massacre!!!

Anyway, for my impromptu "SLOGAN CONTEST", these are the "vouchers" that I'm giving away. I shall consult with esteemed flogger, AWHIFFOFLEMONGRASS to decide who is the winning entry. (1st and 2nd prize respectively)

I had the most delectable creme brulee the other day. Made by a french lady. She did not use individual ramekins, and used a biggish platter instd. When I asked her how many egg yolks she used, suffice to say in that one spoonful I put in mouth, I was actually eating 1/2 a yolk and I still had easily 6-8 spoonsful left!! 30 yolks... sup sup sui la!

teckiee, you might as well gouge my eyes out, than ask me to patiently sit by the oven making kek lapis....as for freezing my eggs, for now 4 is enough la. who knows, when i am 80, i might want one more...

arrrghh! It's clean shaven! Hahaha...There there, they are a hardy species. Will grow back to be thick and lustrous in not time. But hor, it looks like your maid de-weeded the whole patch. Still got akar or not?

same thing with my eggs. Yolks, i mean... i wouldn't know what to do with so many yolks... after attempting macaroons that never seemed to really take off... hehehe

FADMOM, the strangest thing is, for years, i've been asking around for kadok cuttings, not knowing they were sprouting right under my nose...and when i FINALLY ascertain that they ARE kadok, she goes and murders the dang plant! aitelyu!

unka, i not sure if she de-rooted the bush la...but apparently she did transplant some into a pot. roll eyes.

TNG, i am looking at my two beetroots as we speak....not sure if they're ripe, and can be juiced. oddly enough, none of the internet martha stewart recipes use beetroot, only catherine lau uses...

Haha I know what you mean about leftover egg yolks/whites. I never have the heart to throw them out, so I keep them... only to throw them away a couple of days later :P
I finds egg yolks extremely adorable though, I took a couple of pics of them and put them on my blog. If you want to see them, it's cutiepieohmeohmy.blogspot.com : ) Sorry, don't mean to spam.. just y'know.. ; )
