Le Meridien's Executive Sous Chef Zubir will helm the kitchen once again, with the glorious Ramadan spread, such as roasted baby lamb in arabic spices, Malay kerabu, Indonesian bakso, Prawn samblal, mee rebus Johor,
I love the ulams and the rendangs. Actually there is so much variety, even if you were take a spoonful of each dish, you'd find yourself bursting at the seams.
Belitong, not a very common sight, and an acquired taste.
A quails egg and chicken special of the day.
There is also a large variety of Indian and Chinese food in the buffet line up. I've mentioned on previous occasions that the Indian buffet here is one of my all time favourites.
and a goreng corner featuring cempedak, sweet potatoes and yam.
The sashimi counter at Latest Recipe is always a treat, as is the teppanyaki counter, which always has a long queue.
At times like these, when the queues at the teppanyaki are like bus ticket queues of people wanting to go home for raya, it pays to know the PR & Hotel people, and all we had to do was wait at our table and the Teppanyaki chef brought us a platter of beef, chicken and cod to sample.
The dessert variety is astounding, but I shall not repeat them here, as I've posted about them last year..
But worthy of mention again, would be the Belgian Waffles, which are the BEST waffles in the country, I reckon. Light, airy, crispy on the outside, moist on the inside, I could just come for the buffet and eat waffles, and I'd be happy
Of the Ramadan menu, Chef Zubir says, "The menu was crafted as reflection of food I grew up with that is non-pretentious and just honest Malaysian food at its best".
The buffet dinner is available at Latest Recipe from 10 July to 6 August, and is priced at RM128++ per person, from Monday to Friday, and RM118++ per person on Saturday and Sunday, and RM88++ for bookings after 9pm from Monday to Thursday.
